Even after enduring physical injuries, a brave firefighter with 90% of his body covered in tattoos expressed his frustration at not being able to change his appearance and feeling like he resembled a criminal.
André Stuffinger, a 44-year-old from Zurich, Switzerland, boasts ten piercings, eyeball tattoos, a split tongue, and over 100 intricate tattoos adorning his skin. Throughout the years, the professional cook and volunteer firefighter estimates he has spent close to £26,000 on his body art.
Though he has always found joy in body modifications and tattoos, André’s journey began shortly after his 18th birthday when he chose to adorn his right upper arm with a butterfly tattoo. He admits that he holds a special affection for this particular piece, stating that he would opt for it every time given the chance.
In addition, she mentioned, “The tattoo on my lip is a bit faded, and my tongue piercing is still healing; it’s a work in progress.”
“My journey into transformation started 26 years ago, and I don’t think it will ever truly be finished. I’m always evolving and making changes.”
Currently, I have 10 tattoos, with six more in the works, and the number of piercings I have is unclear. It’s not a full body art, but I definitely have over 100 individual tattoos scattered across my skin.
“If I had to estimate, I would say I’ve spent around £26,000 on my modifications, but the exact amount remains unknown.”
Andreas proudly stated, “I already have ten piercings, but I’m also planning to get six more in the near future.” A snapshot of him shows him with clamps on his back.
Despite facing criticism and being compared to a criminal for his appearance, André has learned to brush off the judgment. He admits that people are often skeptical of him at first, but as they get to know him, their perceptions tend to change. André describes himself as a calm individual who rarely gets angry.
Children are often curious about him, asking who he is with wide-eyed wonder. André finds it refreshing that children are more accepting of others compared to adults. He notes that older people tend to be more open-minded when it comes to body modifications.
Having started his transformation 26 years ago, André believes it is an ongoing process that will never truly be complete. Currently sporting 10 tattoos with plans for six more, he also has numerous piercings scattered across his body, totaling over 100 tattoos. While he estimates having spent around £26,000 on his body modifications, the actual amount remains unknown.
“When I’m at work in my firefighter gear, most people don’t even notice my tattoos right away. It usually takes some time for them to realize,” shared Andreas.
The 44-year-old individual explained how unique it is when people first see him, as they often don’t realize right away that he has tattoos. He mentioned that while on duty in his fisherman uniform, victims and civilians may not notice him at first, but eventually do notice him. He believes that the uniform and helmet play a role in how he is perceived during rescues. He also shared that he feels veterinarians are always willing to help. With ninety percent of his body covered in tattoos, he enjoys sharing his life stories, expressing a carefree attitude of just doing things without worrying about the potential consequences.
The person with tattoos mentioned, “I don’t notice any particular treatment towards me when I’m involved in a rescue. I believe it’s because of the uniform and helmet that I wear.”
Before his transformation, the pastry chef described himself as just a regular guy. However, he now embraces his tattoos, piercings, and modifications as integral parts of who he is. Andree has undergone various physical changes, some of which have been uncomfortable. Despite the initial shock factor, he finds it amusing how getting an eye tattoo was relatively painless compared to the discomfort he experienced during the healing process. The tongue split was particularly excruciating, causing swelling that made eating, drinking, and speaking a challenge for several days.
Andreas, who has covered 90% of his body in tattoos, enjoys pushing his boundaries. In the photo, Andreas is engaging in a martial arts activity.
Andreas shared that he went without eating or talking for three days following his tongue splitting procedure, mentioning that it was challenging to communicate during that time.

He expressed, “The reaction to my face tattoo is usually mixed. When people first meet me, it often catches them off guard.”
The volunteer firefighter shared that he is thinking of adding six more piercings to his collection, as he already has a total of ten.
Andreas decided to get a dolphin tattoo on his right upper arm as his initial body modification. He adores this tattoo and states that he would choose it again without hesitation. Reflecting on his decision, Andreas shared, “My mom passed away from cancer, and we never had a meaningful conversation about it. It’s something that still weighs heavily on my mind.”
“Surprisingly, getting eyeball tattoos wasn’t too difficult for me,” he explained. “The only thing that was painful was the sensitivity for a few days after.”
“During tense situations, civilians often seem to overlook my tattoos,” he noted while discussing how people react to his ink while he’s on duty. Check out the photo: Andrea working out at the fire station.
“I have all my piercings, tattoos, and body modifications on display now,” he said. “But for my parents, it was a gradual acceptance.”
“They weren’t thrilled about it, but they understood my choices,” he added. “However, my face tattoo was a tough one for them to come to terms with.”
“We never really had a conversation about my mom’s cancer,” he revealed. “It still weighs on me.”
“My dad has been supportive and knows that I am happy with my life, job, and community involvement.”
