A group of tabby kittens, including one particularly close-knit pair, were rescued from the tough life of the streets and started a new chapter together. One man’s work break unexpectedly led him to bringing home a precious kitten in need of love and care.
After their mom was unfortunately injured in a car accident, a group of four adorable kittens found themselves in the care of ARPO, an animal rescue in Indianapolis, Indiana. Despite the scary ordeal, the kittens stayed close together, huddling up for warmth and comfort.
The little furballs were only around three weeks old and required constant care and medical assistance. One of the white kittens had a hurt paw, while the other two were a bit unsteady on their feet.
It seemed like the tabby kitten of the bunch was the one keeping the group united, acting as the glue that held them all together.
Lori White, a dedicated foster volunteer at ARPO, shared the heartwarming story of how four kittens found comfort and support in each other. With proper nourishment, tender care, and a cozy environment, Ducky, Cera, Petrie, and Littlefoot blossomed. While Cera and Petrie initially showed signs of cerebellar hypoplasia, it turned out that they just needed more time for their muscles to strengthen. The bond between these kittens kept them comforted and helped them overcome their challenges.
Lori White shared updates on the furry friends, mentioning how Petrie had a warble removed from his neck and Ducky the tabby had a scare with aspiration pneumonia but thankfully recovered after a two-day hospital stay. Littlefoot, the kitten with the injured paw, healed up well with a week of wound care and antibiotics. Though she now sports a smaller mitten on her left front leg, it doesn’t hinder her playful spirit. Littlefoot was a bit of a late bloomer when it came to eating solid meals, as she had a special attachment to her bottle.
By receiving the right nourishment and attentive care, the kittens started to flourish under Lori White’s watchful eye. Ducky, the distinctive tabby, easily distinguishes herself from her siblings by her vocal demands for mealtime and her quick mastery of the litter box. Content and satisfied after a hearty meal, Ducky eagerly seeks out belly rubs before snuggling up with her littermates for a cozy cuddle session.
Ducky stands out as the only tabby among her siblings, who have all been growing rapidly in the past few weeks. Their unique personalities are becoming more visible with each passing day. When not taking adorable naps, they can be found playfully running around, engaging in playful wrestling matches, and exploring the room by climbing anything they can get their paws on.
Ducky, the ideal cuddly companion, loves to be the star of the show and isn’t shy about expressing her thoughts. She has embraced her role as a natural overseer and groomer, especially when perched on her foster mother’s shoulders.
Feeding time for the bottle babies
These little kitties are fortunate to have been rescued from life on the streets. Thanks to the care of a loving foster family, they have made a full recovery and are now thriving and growing stronger every day.
“They are all so lively and loving! They will be ready for adoption through ARPO in early September,” Lori excitedly revealed to Love Meow.
