Some animals with disabilities struggle to find homes, but thankfully, a special cat with one eye has finally found his forever family. The Fairfield Area Humane Society in Ohio recently shared a post about Eggbert, a 2-year-old shelter cat looking for a home. Despite missing an eye and a nostril, Eggbert’s unique appearance makes him a real head-turner.
However, Eggbert has not allowed his disabilities to bring him down. He appears to be a very content cat with a lovely smile in one of the images.
The Fairfield Area Humane Society shared on Facebook, “Despite snoring loudly, Eggbert is always full of energy! He is extremely affectionate and gets along well with other cats, dogs, and children.”
“He enjoys receiving headbutts, having his chin scratched, and tagging along behind you like a little duckling.”
Although Eggbert is unfazed by his challenges, finding him a home was not easy. The post mentioned that he was previously cared for by a family who observed him having occasional seizures.
While the cause of these seizures remains unknown, the Humane Society advices potential adopters of Eggbert to be prepared for future medical care.
Although not every prospective owner may be keen on taking in a cat with unique appearances and potential health issues, Eggbert’s endearing smile captured the hearts of many online users and his story quickly went viral, being shared over 100 times and featured in several media outlets.
Despite the obstacles, Eggbert’s charming demeanor quickly led him to find a loving home. An update from February 26 confirmed that Eggbert had been successfully adopted, with a heartwarming photo showcasing the special bond between him and his new family.
The shelter expressed their joy in knowing that Eggy has joined a new family that already has another FAHS alumni kitty, ensuring he is in good hands. They are confident that Eggy will be showered with love and pampered in his new home. This happy ending for the beautiful cat, now named Eggbert, is truly heartwarming.
