Bruce’s extraordinary appearance is truly fascinating, with the added mystery of nobody knowing why he looks the way he does, given that his cat parents were just regular short-haired cats.
Bruce was born with long hair that appears both wet and dry simultaneously. Along with the unique fur, he also only has 40% of his teeth.

When Kim took Bruce to the vet for the first time, she wanted to ensure his health and investigate his unique appearance. To her surprise, the vet was amazed, saying, “I’ve never encountered a feline like Bruce before.” Determined to find answers, Kim delved into research and made a remarkable discovery – she found about four or five other cats from various parts of the world that bore a striking resemblance to Bruce.
Based on this revelation, the vet theorizes that Bruce’s distinctive look is likely due to an exceptionally rare recessive gene, which explains why only a handful of cats share his appearance. Additionally, Bruce’s fur lacks an undercoat, giving it a unique wet-and-dry appearance. Kim humorously noted, “He kind of resembles a moving wig.”
