Parents can come in many forms, not just biological. Take, for example, the touching tale from Iraq where Goran Surchi, a Kurdish farmer and soldier, discovered an unlikely parental figure in his chicken coop. One of his chickens had taken in three orphaned kittens, providing them with the care, love, and attention they needed after losing their mother. This heartwarming story shows that parental love knows no bounds, even extending across species.
Goran followed the meowing coming from the chicken coop, thinking the chickens were in trouble. Much to his surprise, upon closer inspection, he found that the sound was actually coming from beneath one of the chickens. To his amazement, when he lifted the chicken, he discovered three cute kittens nestled underneath.
The individual was able to film their incredible discovery and decided to share it online. Much to their amazement, the video quickly gained popularity.
“I thought I’d capture this special moment on video, and I was shocked to see three adorable kittens there,” Goran shared. The hen, named Lee, took on the role of caring for the kittens after their mother tragically drowned in a nearby lake on the farm.
“It’s incredible how our chicken appeared to understand the situation and decided to look after the kittens,” Goran mentioned. After sharing the video on TikTok, it gained popularity quickly. Being an animal lover, Goran has observed the kindness and compassion displayed between different species of animals towards each other.
